Building material prices mixed since COVID downturn

According to the U.S. bureau of labor and statistics, changes in producer price indexes in basic building materials are mixed. Softwood lumber, used primarily for homebuilding, is down 13.6% since March, and down 2.4% since March 2019. Iron and steel is down 14.2% since March and down 3.6% since March 2019. Ready mixed concrete is up 0.4% since March and up 5% since March 2019.
