Wood Prices Up 41 Percent, Concrete and Steel Steady

Producer price index (PPI) for softwood lumber is up over 41 percent since November 2020 whereas PPI for ready mixed concrete is up less than one percent and steel up nearly three percent in the same timeframe. Used primarily for homebuilding, softwood lumber prices have spiked since COVID-19 hit the U.S. driving the cost of housing up considerably.
